Body Fat—What is it?

Body fat is loose connective tissue that is made up of adiposities, and there are two different forms of adiposities. The body is efficient in storing energy and as a part of this when more calories are consumed than the person uses the body will convert them into fat in order to be used later when needed by the body for energy.
The two types of adipose tissue are, white adipose tissue and brown adipose tissue, and when this measured if the body weight is 150 pounds there can be a measurement of 30 percent body fat, which means that there will be 105 pounds of lean body mass. This means that there can be approximately 45 pounds that can be loss if wanting to be lean and less if wanting to just shed some of the extra weight.

The fatty tissue is normally found beneath the skin, however it can also surround the organs in some cases, which can make it be a health risk for the person carrying this extra weight.
