Grapefruit and weight loss

The grape fruit contains a high content of fiber as well as quite low glycemic load. There was a study conducted at the Nutrition and Metabolic Research Center at Scripps Clinic regarding the effectiveness of grapefruit in reducing the weight. It was concluded that simply adding the grapefruit or the juice of grapefruit one significantly reduce the extra weight. According to the researchers, selecting certain citrus fruits that control the appetite can help further in reducing the weight. If one consumes foods that are rich in fiber content then, he/she can eat much more food without taking more amounts of calories. This is because the fruits as well as vegetables that have higher fibrous value have less calorific value. There was a study conducted by Dr. Ken Fujioka regarding how to lose the extra weight of the people. A total of hundred men and women participated in the study. Taking in average, the participants eating sufficient grapefruit with each meal showed a loss of 3.6 pounds in their weight. Simultaneously, the participants who drank enough grapefruit juice everyday recorded a loss in their weight of 3.3 pounds. There were many more participants who lost more than ten pounds of their weight in average.
