Weight loss and insulin resistance |
People who are insulin resistant must be somewhat cautious with intake of foods with high carbohydrate content. This is because in such people it is seen that with intake of carbohydrates the pancreas increase the secretion of insulin so as to maintain the glucose levels in the blood. And due to this over secretion of insulin carbohydrate gets stored in the body in the form of fat. And this can be one of the reasons of weight issues. However, there are no such evidences that insulin resistance can make people fat. But still experts suggest that people who are insulin resistant must have high protein but low carbohydrate diet. According to healthcare experts, maintaining control over the diet and taking up more of exercise sessions can work towards treatment of insulin resistance. And therefore weight loss can help in treating the problem of insulin resistance. Studies reveal that both exercising and losing some percentage of body weight helps to increase insulin sensitivity. This will balance the secretion of insulin in the body because weight loss allows the cells to find out the exact levels of insulin that is required and thus over secretion is avoided. Both diet and exercise will help in dealing with this situation. |
