Overcoming A Weight Loss Plateau

Right now the one thing that stands out the most as an epidemic is obesity. At least one-third of the US with adults is obese and the other one-third is overweight and this is confirmed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. This has made a lot of people worry about the future of their children and have made people wonder what might possibly be done to help prevent it from becoming more of an epidemic. One reason for this is because most people hit a plateau during the middle of weight loss and give up. 

Most patients work very hard with exercise and looking for ways to improve things. The numbers on the scales start to drop and then suddenly it stops. This is a weight loss plateau and a patient usually starts becoming discouraged and they look for ways to come out of it. Usually what causes this is from forming a pattern with weight loss. In order to get over this plateau the patient should increase the exercise and cut back on what they are eating. If a patient has other health conditions before changing their diet they should talk with their doctor and find out if it is ok for them to cut back or if they should just increase their exercise
