Osteoporosis and weight loss |
The people, who have more weight and wish to cut short their calories without exercising, lose more weight. This means they lose bone mass. A study regarding this was conducted by Dennis t. Villareal along with his colleagues at the Washington University in St. Louis. The research included forty six men as well as women. The average age of the group was 57. All of them had more than the normal weight. None of them went through regular exercise. Out of them thirty six agreed to lose their weight. Half of them started eating less amount of food. The amount of calorie in their food intake was near about twenty percent less than their normal diet. The other half of the participants had more physical exercise. They burned off twenty percent more calories than they used to burn when in normal condition. Ten other participants did not take any step to reduce their weight. After the test, it was found that the people reducing their food as well as the people who exercised properly in order to lose their weight showed a significance loss in their weight. However, the group of the ten people who sat ideally without taking any steps did not show a single sign of reduced weight. |
